Most people either post the identical text everywhere, which reads badly on at least three platforms, or they write everything from scratch, which is why they stop after two weeks. There is a middle way, and it starts with separating the idea from its shape.
You write a good LinkedIn post. You paste it into Instagram. It flops. You conclude Instagram does not like you.
Instagram is fine. The problem is that a LinkedIn post and an Instagram caption are different objects. Same idea, different shape, different job.
LinkedIn rewards a slow build and a clear takeaway. Instagram punishes a slow build because people are scrolling with their thumb already moving. TikTok needs you to be interesting inside two seconds or the video is gone. X wants one sharp thought. WhatsApp Status is read by people who already know you, so it can be casual in a way none of the others can.
Before you write anything, write the idea in one plain sentence. No hook, no formatting, no personality. Just the claim.
That sentence is not a post. It is the thing every post will be about. Now you shape it five ways.
Open on the objection, not the idea. Speak the first line as if interrupting someone.
One point per slide, and make slide one a statement people want to argue with. Carousels earn saves, and saves matter more than likes.
Here you can open with a small story and land the point at the end. The audience will read four paragraphs, which is not true anywhere else.
Cut everything except the sharpest version of the claim. One thought, no preamble.
Closest to speaking. These are people who already have your number, so no hook is needed.
If you change nothing else, change the first line. Each platform has a different tolerance for how long you take to get going. The opening is where most cross-posting dies.
A long post is not a better post. A 40 word Status can outperform a 400 word LinkedIn post, because it fits where it lives.
Spread them. The same idea lands differently on Tuesday than on Friday, and the people who follow you in two places will not feel duplicated.
One idea, five posts, one week. Monday the Reel, Tuesday the X post, Wednesday the carousel, Thursday Status, Friday LinkedIn. You wrote one idea and you published five times.
Be honest about the limits. Some things are platform specific and forcing them wastes your time.
When the idea genuinely only works in one place, let it work in one place. Repurposing is a tool, not a rule.
Reshaping five times is real work, and doing it manually is why people abandon it by week three. The idea generation was never the bottleneck. The rewriting was.
Paste one piece of content into Crevers and it rewrites it natively for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, Facebook or WhatsApp. Free to start.
